The design of the memorial celebrates the contributions of Southwestern Pennsylvanians to the war effort and serve as an outdoor museum to teach all those who visit about the great local stories that were part of the war effort. Constructed of stainless steel spires and glass, the monument describes the war in a series of photos, the region's role in the conflict, and the sacrifices of local veterans. Twenty-four granite panels feature essays, diary entries and quotations. Visitors will pass a large pole-mounted flag and then enter the heart of the memorial, a unique elliptically-shaped space defined by the panels. The plaques tell the narrative story of the war. The interior is devoted to the local history while the exterior describes the story of the war around the world. Read more
The owners of this pavilion wanted a way to light the pavilion without hot spots or glaring fixtures in the picturesque setting of an open field. The Orion Lasso mounted easily to the top of the center joist hiding the fixture while providing soft indirect light that doesn’t affect the surrounding environment.
